Want to start off by thanking Billy Bilsland Cycles for the new bike! Really appreciate the help that they are giving me this year and super excited to get racing on the bike.
On the 8th of AprilI I flew out to Calpe in Spain for a 12 day camp with a few of the British Para-Cycling team.
It was a new experience as I have never been training abroad but it was so much fun! the roads were quiet in most places and I didn’t need to worry about dodging potholes! The warm weather allowed us to be riding in just shorts and jersey which was nice and I now have some tan lines to prove I was actually away. Whilst riding I covered 950km, climbed 15,868m and I discovered that a lot of the roads had been used in previous editions of the Vuelta, so it was cool to be riding up some climbs and see the riders names painted on the road. I had never ridden 12 days solid without a rest day so it was good to see that I was capable and I’m now in a great place to start this season.
Next up is a GB Camp in Snowdonia and then heading straight from there out to Belgium for the first World Cup of the season s really exciting times and hoping to get some good results off the back of all this hard work.
